Sneaky 'Lil Guy

I went to check on Jensen today to see why he hadn't fallen asleep for his afternoon nap to find him like this.

I told him he was in big, big trouble. He just smiled and laughed at me. I laughed back of course. How could you stay mad at him?

He has taught himself to sit up. I am not welcoming this stage of development from him. He used to be a perfect napper (due to Babywise of course). He would just lay on his back and sing himself to sleep. Now he is sitting in up in his crib, playing with his bedding, and having a great old time.

Jensen is saying two words now, Da and Ba. (Dad and Ball). What happen to Ma? Maybe he is getting back at me for trying to wean him. He is a little stinker that won't take a bottle or drink formula and sits up in his crib. Who knew I would be having such trials with this little guy?

Jensen Has Something to Say

Well we proved that old wives tale false 'that you can't get pregnant while nursing', not that we were standing by that method. The nurse practitioner even said that there was only a 5% chance that it could happen. We are expecting a new little baby in our house October 16, 2009. I am ten weeks along and I am patiently waiting to get through the first trimester. Quincy and I were very shocked at first but we both realized that we aren't getting any younger and are excited for our family to keep growing.

J's First Haircut

Every month Quincy cuts his own hair. I didn't know that guys did this. My father and brothers always went to the mall to get theirs cut. Quincy has cut his own hair since his mission. It has become one of my wifely responsibilities to cut the back of his hair since we don't have good mirrors in this house. The first ten times were a little scary but now I think I should have gone to beauty school.

Yesterday after we cut Quincy's hair, we put Jensen in the barber's chair. His hair was getting a little bit long on the top and was uneven. So we thought that it was time. At first he didn't know what to think about the noisy clippers, but then he just sat there while his daddy gave him his first haircut. His Aunt Dianna says they turn into little boys when they get their first haircut. I am not sure if I am ready for that yet, but it is coming if I am ready or not.

This is him after his haircut. Such a handsome little naked guy. If you click on the picture you can see his first tooth coming in. It only took him ten and a half months to get it.

Ooh La La. . .

My husband brought this home for me last night. A peanut butter banana crepe topped with chocolate and whip cream. My favorite. I closed my eyes and pictured myself in Paris sitting by the Eifle tower eating this amazing treat. Thanks Q for thinking of me!

Which Team?

One hat

Two hats

Which team is Buddy going to cheer for this year?
Quincy and I couldn't resist these hats for the upcoming baseball season for Jensen.

Logandale Weekend

This weekend was our ward campout at Valley of Fire. We were either wimps or really smart because we just went up for Friday night and then made the short drive to Logandale to sleep at Quincy's parents house. Jensen loves the outdoors and enjoyed staring at the campfire.

On Saturday, we got our first look at the Logandale chapel that burnt down about a month ago. It holds a lot of memories for the Walker family. Lots of baptisms, missionary farewells, baby blessings, weddings and funerals were held in this building for the Walker Family. Quincy's grandfather, Glenn Jensen, helped build it back in the 50's. Of course the church will rebuild it but it will not be the same. This building had a unique layout that I have never seen before that gave it special character.

Jensen visited part of his namesake's graves while we were out in Logandale. Jensen is looking more and more like a little boy instead of my baby boy. When did that happen?
