I know all mommies say this but my baby really is growing up too fast!

Duncan at 6 Months

Likes his cereal as long as it has the good milk with it.

Babywised during the day and not at night (but doing better)

Brother and sister can't leave him alone

Jensen is a Big 6 Year Old!

This happy kid turned six last month. He spent the day by going to school. I sent birthday Oreos in his backpack to share with his classmates. His teachers had said they didn't want anything messy which I totally understand. Right when he got on the bus I could hear him tell the bus driver that it was his birthday. Oh how things change when you get older. I am pretty sure most of us just keep that information to ourselves on that day. 

When he got home he had two crowns from his teachers. They take great care of him. We let him open his presents right away. He is all basketball right now so he got jerseys, basketball guys, headband, and even NBA Jam from us. But his cousins sent him a Mario game for the Wii and I think that was the winner. He is addicted and so is his daddy!

We kept asking Jensen what he wanted to do for his birthday. If you know Jensen he is a creature of habit. We went to Chuck E. Cheese last year for his birthday so he wanted to do it again.  We didn't want to disappoint him so we headed to Chuck E's. Quincy had an old roommate from BYU visiting that week so we asked them to come along. We had hung out with them earlier that week and our kids got along perfectly. They have a boy Jensen's age, a girl just a little bit older than Lucy, and then a 2 year old.

Here are the boys trying to beat the records on the hoop game. They spent all night and most of our coins on this game. Parker and Jensen are both into hoops as much as their daddies.

While the boys were shooting, Kambri and Lucy kept busy by going to the photo booth and many other games.

Jensen had a great day and ended it by eating birthday cake. We can't believe that he is six already!

Hike to the B!

Quincy woke up with a wild hair one Saturday morning. He got us all in the car and we headed to Old Henderson to hike the B on the mountain (or should I say hill?). We had tried to find the road to get there one night but couldn't ever find it. Then after looking on Google Earth Quincy had a plan. It turned out that no road went directly there so we had to take a 2 mile walk to get there.

Jensen took off as he always does on hikes. He has so much energy and wants to be in the lead. He fell while he was trying to get ahead of Lucy so he held onto his shorts like this for most of the hike. And of course still ate his apple while walking. 

Right before getting to the B is a big wash that you had to cross. Luckily, it was dry as can be that morning. The last little path to the B was pretty steep but the kids did it without a problem. 

Finally we got to the B without whining but we did feel a few raindrops. 

Duncan had fallen asleep on the last little bit but woke up happy to see that we had made our destination.

I wish I could say there wasn't whining on the way back but the kids walked it all by themselves. We even got more raindrops on the way back but it was refreshing since we know the weather will be hot soon enough to even think about hiking here in Vegas.

The kids were tired. It turned out to be a great way to release some energy for the kids and wear them out. It didn't last long though.

Duncan at 5 Months:

The Easter Bunny Shops at Old Navy Too!

Lucy helped me get the Easter decorations up this year. That day they started doing daily Easter egg hunts to get prepared for the real deal.  I have to say their practicing paid off because they were way better egg finders this year. 

One of our favorite Easter traditions (happened two years in a row so now it is a tradition) is to have a picnic egg hunt with the Kanets. Marian and I prepare their lunches in the eggs and then hide them over the house.  It was so such a fun day to have the Kanets over to hang out. It just hasn't been the same since they haven't moved over to Henderson (switching the blame on them). Lucy still asks to play with Reagan weekly so we were ecstatic to have them over for a whole day to play. 

Next up was an activity with some of our new ward members. All the moms brought 10 eggs per kid and all the kids left with 10 eggs. It was perfect. After the kids played at the park. 

Jensen really thought the eggs were hidden well so he ventured out in the rocks and only found rocks. But we did get him on track and he found his eggs. 

This is probably a fourth of the kids in our new ward. We are still learning names and making friends but so far our kids love our new ward.  Thanks Julie, I snagged this picture from her Facebook page. 

Since it was my spring break we did talk about going on a mini trip somewhere but it just didn't happen. Kind of hard to be last minute with a 5 month old. Quincy did take a day off and we went to the kids museum. It was nice to have Daddy with us for a change at the museum.

Lucy was the one to notice that her tags on her dress and shoes said Old Navy. She remarked that they Easter Bunny must shop there also.

After the kids found all of eggs (well most of them, Lucy just found one yesterday that was hidden a little two well I guess) and opened their baskets it was time for a photo shoot. 

One o'clock church is the best on Easter Sunday so we continued our photo shoot but in their Easter clothes. 

I had the kids decorate their own Easter jello eggs for their dessert. Lucy was very careful and put just the right amount of sprinkles on top. Jensen decided to use the hole jar. As if he didn't get enough sugar that day!
