Real Trick or Treating

On Saturday we headed out to Logandale to go real trick or treating with the cousins. Right when we pulled up Jensen fell down on Grandma and Grandpa's steps. He just scraped his chin and bit his lip, but ended up getting blood everywhere. He didn't cry too long. As soon as Grandma found him some cars to play with he was fine.

After his nap and a wash of the clothes he was good as new. He loves playing in Grandma's park. He is sporting his new retro jersey his dad bought for him for his birthday.

Grandma bought these cute outfits for the girls to wear and we just haven't got around to having a photo shoot with them until today. Seeing Lucy next to her cousin Demsie made me realize that Lucy isn't a baby anymore. She really is a little girl. I am so glad Lucy will have a cousin on Quincy's side of the family to play with.

We might have to get retakes!

Jensen really got into the trick or treating and even would grab candy out of the dish at a couple of homes. He really enjoyed houses that were decorated. He only got scared once. He kept up pretty good with the cousins until the end. Then we wouldn't even make it to the door before they were off to the next house. At that time we piled in the car and he just had fun watching them run from house to house. He got plenty of candy for a boy that doesn't eat much of it.

As good as it's going to get!

On Friday our ward had trunk or treat. I didn't hear that there was going to be a competition for the best decorated trunk. If so I would have done a lot better. Our trunk looked pretty sorry with spider webs, spider lights that didn't turn on, and my one armed skeleton left over from my school decorations. It's pretty safe to say that we were not going to win.

Quincy passed out the candy while I took the kids around in the stroller. They had a great time and even got scared once or twice by some adult costumes.

Halloween Puppet Show

On Thursday we caught another story time at our local library, but this wasn't any old story time. It was a full on puppet show. I was hesitant to take them because it was right at their nap time. But they did well and loved it!

This is our favorite story time teller. She is crazy fun. We nicknamed her Ms. Lippy.

They told some of our favorite Halloween stories and sang lots of scary songs.

I just love being a stay at home Mommy so we can enjoy these activities together!

It's Fall Here in Vegas

Fall has definitely started here in Vegas. Our morning walks are cold but by the afternoon it is warmer. The other day I had a H&M coupon that expired so I loaded the kids and headed to Town Square. I couldn't have planned a better day. After shopping for a bit we were just in time for storytime. Jensen could have cared less that the man was juggling or that Alvin the Chipmunk made an apperance. He was too busy looking at cars and watching the airplanes fly close over head.

He did watch him carve the jack-o-lantern. After, they passed out balloons for the kids. They always do a great job entertaining the kids, but its hard to compete with the airplanes and cars.

After storytime we enjoyed the park. Lucy thinks she is a big girl and can climb and slide with the big kids.

She proved her Mama wrong.

Costume Regrets

If I would have known she was going to grow these. . .

. . . I would have made her a Cullen for Halloween.

Our Utah Weekend

We arrived in Provo late last Thursday evening. Quincy is the one that brought us to Utah this time. He was having a live fantasy basketball draft with his brothers and buddies in American Fork. They did this last year and had so much fun they have been planning on it all year. I didn't complain because that meant some quality Knudsen family time for me. They had a whole day planned of activities so I planned some activities of my own with my family.

Lucy did well on the trip up even though she is still facing backwards in her car seat. She doesn't weigh enough even though she is one year old. I am trying to fatten her up on strawberry milk but her daddy doesn't approve. She must have slept too much because when we got there she was full of energy at 10:30 at night. She found the Dove chocolates left on our bed from our wonderful hostess, my mother. She was all over them.

Since Quincy was away doing his thing on Friday that meant shopping for me. I was even approved for some purchases. My sis-in-law Missy drove me around to some of our favorite stores. She always hooks me up on what's new.

Later that day Grandma had an idea to go to the Disney store at the University Mall for a costume parade. I hadn't brought our costumes but Grandma had a Mickey Mouse costume in the dress up box for Jensen to wear. She had bought the three girls Minnie Mouse costumes to wear for our upcoming Disneyland trip. So we threw those in the car and headed to the mall.

This sounded like a good idea but I should have known better. Jensen fell asleep 20 minutes before we headed out the door. Let's just say he doesn't wake up the happiest like someone else I know, especially if it isn't his normal 3 hour nap. He wasn't liking the costume at all. When we got in the store he was one of those kids that you feel bad for their parents. I was getting "those" looks. Finally I found the Cars merchandise and he calmed down. I totally gave in and bought him a new Mater and Sheriff. He was in pure heaven once he calmed down (except for the costume). By then it was too late to do the activities in the store so we made our escape.

Lucy was quite happy until Grandma mentioned getting their pictures taken. By then Lucy had had it too. It's funny how fast they can change their little attitudes.

So my kids didn't end up in the Knudsen family Halloween pictures, which is normal. I took them to go get pizza instead. They were much more pleasant after that.

Saturday was raining and put a damper on all of our outside activities. Quincy did go with my dad to the BYU game. We had fun with the cousins around the house. Lucy enjoyed dancing with her cousin Bryawna in her new red squeaker shoes. The cousins are really into Lucy walking. She would tease them by giving them a step or two or four just for them.

We really did have a great trip as always. My parents know how to spoil us! Quincy told me some good news on the way home that they might want to do a live draft for baseball too. I said I approve as long as it brings me to Utah County.

It won't be long till she's walking all over the place!
