Saturday Project

If you haven't heard already I am so sick of my kitchen decor. Everyone thinks that I love Coke when they see it. It was always supposed to be a fifties kitchen, you know with the cute checkered black and white tile, but instead it ended up looking like a Coke museum. I can't even tell you when the last time I actually drank a Coke. I mean, I have been pregnant/nursing/pregnant for almost two years so no caffeine has entered this body in that time. When it really comes down to it I actually prefer Pepsi to Coke anyway. I know it is going to be a long process since our budget doesn't exactly have a fund for a kitchen make-over right now {someday . . .maybe}.

Today I took my first step to changing my kitchen/dinning room. My project for the day was to recover my kitchen table chairs. This week I found fabric that matches my decor {hopefully not too matchy-matchy} and bought a new heavy duty stapler since mine went MIA and I was in business.

I love this table. It used to belong to my Grandma Knudsen. My family ate lots of KFC and played many different card games around this table. When I moved here to Vegas I inherited it, old green cushions and all. I wish I would have taken a picture back then. I updated it by painting it black and changed the seat cushions. Well the cushions were screaming Coke kitchen to me lately so I decided to pull an HGTV makeover.

This Kid is a Fish!

We were out at Jensen's Grandparents last weekend in Logandale. They decided the weather was warm enough to fill their pool. It was like a big kiddie pool. The grandkids loved it. Especially Jensen! He got all excited crawling around and splashing in the six inches of water.

This kid is a fish. He played for at least an hour and never got bored.

He even worked on his tan a little bit.

Where's Leo?

Does this stairway look familiar? Well it is an exact replica of the stairway from the Titanic. On Monday we went to the Titanic Exhibit at the Luxor. Quincy's insurance company are sponsors and gave the employees free tickets. We asked our neighbors the Kanets to join us. Marian kept looking for Leo, but sadly enough there was no sign of him.

Despite that, the exhibit was well done. When you entered the exhibit they give you a boarding pass with a real persons name and information. At the end of the exhibit you see if you survived. Poor Quincy didn't make it but the rest of us did.

The best part is an actual piece of the outside wall of the Titanic. Since this artifact was really hard to move, it will be here for ten years. So you don't all need to rush down here to visit, but come soon! Bring your money because the gift shop has your own hope diamonds and a real chunk of coal that costs half a mil.

We Came, We Played, We Conquered

It all started with Quincy driving me to Cedar City for my nieces dance competition. Doesn't Quincy look like a happy guy. He bachelor'd it for a week while I went to visit family in Utah.
Grandma was so happy to see him but Buddy couldn't take his eyes off the dancers.

My talented nieces all won gold medals. They were so excited. After the competition we headed to P-town.

Of course we kept celebrating our birthdays. Thanks Missy for making a yummy cake.

Of course we had to eat at Brick Oven. The balloon man came and made this for Jensen. Can you tell what it is? Here's a hint.

We went to the Hogle Zoo to show Jensen real animals, not just the ones that are on his Baby Einstein videos.

All of us went on the train ride at the zoo. It was over before I even finished taking pictures.

He even rode a gorilla on the merry-go-round with my superstar niece Bryawna. He loved it!

While we stopped in Salt Lake we made a pit stop to eat at the Lion House for a piece of my favorite cake. Remember the one I tried to make? The temple grounds were so pretty. They were full of all different colors of tulips.

Three pregger mommies. These are my sister-in-laws that are due a month before me. They are both having girls. I find out at the end of the month if I get to go shopping for pink things too.

Even after a trip to the zoo he still loves his Einstein. It was supersized at his Grandparents house. He even learned how to turn the T.V. on and off. I don't know if Grandpa liked his new trick very much.

We had a great time visiting family. The week went too fast as always and we didn't get to see everyone. Next time we are going to have to stay a month. Sorry Quincy.
