Easter Printable

I am not taking any credit for this Easter printable. I totally copied it from here, but when I went to go print it, it said it would be in poor resolution (maybe I just don't know how to download it correctly). I normally would move on to the next free printable out there but I really liked this one. So I remade it and added a different background or two. Just thought I would share it with those that would like it. Remember to take off AUTO CORRECTION when you send these to print.

Some People Amaze Me!

A couple of weeks ago our family got a wonderful surprise. A man from our stake that serves with Quincy on high council said he wanted to drop something by. When Quincy told me he was coming by I informed Quincy that he had made my friend the cutest table for her kids and that I was secretly wanting one. Never, ever did I think that they would be bring us one. But when Quincy opened the door, in walked him and his seven kids carrying a table and two chairs just like my friends. I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it! We are surrounded by such good families in this stake that just plain amaze me. It will be hard to ever move away from this area. He said that all of his kids had helped make it but his oldest daughter the most. Their family has made about fifty of them and has given each one away. Amazing! I still don't know how our little family got on that list but I am so glad we did!

After they left we discussed how we should paint it. Quincy joked that it was either going to be red, white, or black. How well does he know me?

I knew that I needed to paint it soon because the kids were already putting it to great use. So this past week I tackled this fun little project.

St. Patty's Fun

{These pictures are a little late but I still wanted to post our St. Patty's fun.}

The kids sporting their green ready to go to a St. Patty's breakfast inspired by Eighteen25 blog. My {not so close as she use to be} neighbor suggested that we get together and have a brunch with the kids. It of course is more for us moms to have a reason to get together and talk. The kids eating green pancakes and green milk is just a bonus. I didn't do too well on the pictures at the brunch but of course it looked just like theirs.

I am totally addicted to pinterest {as you well know already} and thought Lucy needed new hair bows for this special occasion. They were looked up and done in fifteen minutes. Oh, how I love you pinterest!

We also enjoyed a fun game that I found on pinterest called "Don't Eat Lucky". The kids are still asking to play this, but who wouldn't when you get to eat M&M's.

We set a trap for the leprechaun this year. Lucy didn't seem too sure that she wanted to actually catch a green little man, so it's probably a good thing that we didn't actually catch him. He did leave his hat behind when he escaped from our trap.

Lastly, and probably the best thing about this St. Patrick's Day was 99 cent Shamrock shakes at McDonalds. They were yummy!

Swim Time

My friend had a great idea to sign up our two oldest kids in swimming lessons at the aquatic center that just opened close to our houses. {She might of rethought that great idea on the first lesson when she had to go knee deep in regular clothes to rescue Jensen.} We ended up taking turns, one taking the older kids to lessons and the other one watching the two younger kids. It was a two week preschool course that just taught the basics. Jensen was so excited to go swimming everyday. When I woke him up from his nap to get ready his first word out of his mouth would be "swimming".

Watching Jensen and the other kids was a pretty entertaining half hour. Jensen loved to test his boundries on the steps going from one side to the other {that is how he almost drowned}, blowing bubbles, splashing his teachers and the other parents, and drinking half of the pool. My favorite part was when the teachers asked the kids to put their head under the water. Jensen just splashed water on his head instead.

Jensen's class is over for now but I'm afraid that he is going to keep asking about swimming. Good thing its warming up here and we can't wait until we can enjoy the new outside swimming pool at the rec center.

Arise and Shine Printables

This past Sunday we had our New Beginnings program for the Young Women. Big sigh. It turned out great. I love the Arise and Shine theme this year. I was put in charge of invites and other decorative stuff so I turned to the internet to get inspired. I found a lot on ETSY but had a hard time paying for it, so I made my own with Arise and Shine Art on Photoshop. Plus I like everything to be matchy-matchy.

First, I made invites for the program by printing off 4x6 prints at Costco and then gluing them on gray cardstock sheet that I printed on the computer that had the info on the back. Pretty simple and easy. That's what we were going for. Then, I made an 11x14 poster of the same print and put it in a cheap spray-painted frame from a thrift store. For a part of the program the girls each held a battery operated candle so I made round labels for them (the scallops are cut from my silhouette with more gray cardstock) and tied ribbon around them. Lastly, I made little flag/banners for each dessert which was little bundt lemon cakes. Which I didn't get a picture of, sorry.

We hung up lanterns across the ceiling.  It turned out really pretty.
