We sure love it when company comes. This past April my mom and dad came down over their spring break for a visit. Bryawna and Tayla were stowaways and boy are we so glad they came down. The kids loved playing with their cousins and we loved that they kept them busy. We wish we would have cousins and grandparents visit more often.
It turned out to be conference weekend when they visited which meant lots of bonding time in the living room with everyone. Mom had made very cute General Conference packets for the kids to keep them busy while they watched. Lucy really got into it and completed most of her book by herself. She really enjoyed coloring the ties of the apostles.
The girls must have taught the kids some games because they play them all the time now and I know I didn't teach them those games. Dead mummy and Don't-let-the-ball-hit-you, are still being played in our backyard.
There was also lots of basketball played during their visit.
Most people make nice homemade cinnamon rolls or other baked goods for conference. That's just not how I rolled this conference. I brought out the turkey that had been taking up too much room in my freezer since November. This was my first turkey that I had ever cooked on my own. Next time, I better invest in a bigger pan for these type of birds. And yes, there will be a next time because it turned out pretty good.
Since you have to have some type of treat on conference, we made crepes. They were a big hit as always. Do you love my little photo bomber in the back?
Since it wasn't our spring break, Jensen went to school and I taught, but after school hours we kept busy with our visitors. We visited parks, kept shopping, and the kids swam and ate lots of great food. Bryawna and Tayla were very determined to swim over their spring break. They had some unwanted issues with the pool key but Mom and Dad perservered and finally got a new key to the pool at the townhouse. My nieces swam every day after that and my kids joined in the fun one evening.
