Our Busy Eight Month Old

I just love this girl!

I can't seem to get enough of her.

She really is a happy baby that smiles most of the day except for when she's tired or

when Jensen decides to see if she likes blocks thrown at her.

We can't believe that our baby girl is eight months old already.

She has had many milestones this past month which makes her seem even more

grown-up. Here are a few pictures of some of them.

She got her first tooth which surprised her Mama one day when she put her finger in her mouth. There it was breaking through her gums. She wasn't even fussy about the new addition to her mouth.

She started eating fruits and fingerfoods this month. She is still working on grasping the fingerfoods with her index finger and thumb, but she usually finds a way to get it in her mouth.

She is already interested in what we are eating. She grabbed this apple from me and started munching on it. Hopefully she is a better eater than her older brother.

This is typically how dirty she is after each feeding.

She loves to make messes like her Mama.

She learned to rollover this month and now rolls all over the place. She really wants to learn how to crawl but I am not going to encourage that one.

She learned to clap her hands. She is really proud of herself when she does it too.

Another thing she does is shakes and nods her head. She already likes to tell her Mama yes and no.

She loves taking baths with Jensen now as long as he doesn't splash her too much.

At first she would sit in her bumbo but now she just sits up all by herself. These two have been getting along pretty well. They have started to play with each other more. I guess that's one great blessing of having them close in age.

Lucy loves to laugh, especially at her brother. He can be a bug like in this video clip but she just seems to love it. We shouldn't encourage it but her laugh just makes you laugh. She is laughing at him right now while I type this blog.

Everyone comments on how long and slim she is. I'm excited to hear what the doctor says next week at her appointment about her height. I hope she gets those skinny, tall Walker legs. She still doesn't have too much hair on her head yet but she is definitely going to be a toe-head like her daddy was.

One thing is for sure, we love this eight month old Silly Goose!

Walker Reunion 2010

This year the Walker Reunion was held in Pleasant Grove and Provo, Utah over Memorial Day weekend. Good news for me since we could stay with my family and visit with them too.

Day One:

We spent most of the day at the castle park in Pleasant Grove. Here we played games such as Minute to Win It, Fear Factor eating edition, made bracelets, homerun derby and ate yummy food of course!

First up was Minute to Win It. We were divided into teams to play and then one person from each group represented. I am proud to say my chugging soda skills really paid off for my team. I had to drink three Sprites and lean them on their sides. I put my nieces and nephews to shame. Who knew I had such a talent?

We had a great laugh as the guys tried to eat Oreos from their foreheads without using their hands. I am not sure what team won Minute to Win It, which is surprising since Walkers always have to have a winner.

Next up was Fear Factor. Quincy represented our family. I would have been sent home the first round. The rounds consisted of eating vienna sausages, baby food, tripe, and pigs feet. Quincy was doing well but got beat in the last round by Jerry. He must snack on pigs feet daily cause he went back for more. Yuck.

Later the girls made watch bracelets while the boys played home run derby. Jensen wanted to get in on the action.

We had hamburgers with homemade rootbeer for dinner. After dinner the family headed back to the hotel for a swim and called it a day.

Day Two:
Started off the day with a visit to the Bean Museum on BYU campus. We had a private reptile show and learned about turtles, snakes, lizards and crocodilians.

Jensen loved looking at the animals but I think the liger is pretty much his favorite animal.

After the museum we headed to the BYU creamery for some ice cream. Then we went to the park to eat lunch and play ultimate frisbee. Jensen and Lucy were way past a nap and finally passed out while we watched the game.

After group pics and Kev's Bill Cosby impersonation we called it a successful reunion.

Can You Blame Him?

I guess just playing in the water wasn't cutting it at 106 degrees.

Tomorrow we'll have to fill up the pool.
