Mistle"toes"

For my card club we always mix it up for November and do a Christmas neighbor gift. I usually am stressed over this for weeks but thanks to Pinterest I found an idea quickly and went with it. The Christmas card was the one that was my hold up this year. I did get it done but just the night before the exchange. I actually didn't even make me one so I don't have a picture, maybe that was for the best.

Well I made the cute boxes on my silhouette, cut a mistletoe to hang down and made a tag with the print and cut feature. Oh how I love my cameo! But I am sure you knew that already.

Can't wait to paint my own Mistle "toes".

I Really Did Scrapbook This Weekend

This past week the Silhouette Blog had a scrapbook layout challenge. They can always get me motivated to turn in a project when they do this. I am only about four years behind so this might just be the push that I need to get going. I am so tempted to scrapbook digitally but then I know how lucky I am to have a Silhouette and make all my own embellishments. It was really fun putting this page together of Jensen and his favorite dog Snickers (that is no longer with us but maybe he is smiling at these pictures from doggie heaven). My favorite detail is putting Snickers name on his Doghouse using the sketch pens. I love those things! Hopefully they will do more of these in the future. Crushin' on Owls

It's no secret around here that I have a little crush on feathered friends. It seems like every card I want to make has an owl on it. But I try to space them out so they don't kick me out of the card club for overdosing on owls.

My mom saved me this owl that my niece made at school. I fell in love with this sad little guy. It's made out of a toilet paper roll and construction paper. So for one of my first projects on my new cameo I came up with this.

I thought it would be a cute little Valentine with a pillow box instead of a toilet paper roll. Then today as I was just finishing them up I saw that they are in the Silhouette Online Store. Oh well for original ideas. They are overrated right?!

Now to fill them up with goodies!

Christmas Crafts

Just wanted to post some of my Christmas crafts that I made for this season. This was my card for card club. I copied the idea from another blog but actually made my silhouette do most of the work cutting out holes for the string. I had plenty of work though myself sewing these things but was glad with the final outcome.

 

 For card club we also make a neighbor gift that you can exchange or have on hand when someone says they are coming over last minute. These have saved me many times! Most of the time I usually keep them because they are so cute. I made this joy banner for the group.

I needed a present for Jensen's teachers at preschool. I tweaked an idea that my mom saw. It's jingle juice. Which consist of a jingle bell attached to a cup and lemonade powder packets. They attached them just to water bottles I stepped it up a notch by attaching them to these fun reusable drink cups.   

 Last is my neighbor gift that I passed out to my neighbors. I painted 8x10 pieces of wood and then applied vinyl. Seems so easy but I was glad when these were done.

My Copy Cat Halloween Crafts

I know Halloween was so last month but I just never got around to blogging about the new decorations and crafts I got to make this month. I really feel like a copy cat on these crafts but why reinvent the wheel when its cute already!?

This candy garland is from Martha Stewart that I saw last year on her show. I got the itch to make it last year but when I saw how expensive the styrofoam balls and cones were at JoAnns, I said never mind. But then I found them at the dollar store and the itch started again. Martha's glitter makes it.

This year I also knew that I wanted a cute wreath for my neglected door. I saw this one last year and thought it was easy enough. I'm not sure if burlap is my favorite to work with but it turned out. I also had extra glitter leftover and used it for the letters instead of scrapbook paper in the original one.



For Jensen's teachers at school and church I made these with hand sanitizer and vinyl. I got the idea from here. They just did a tag. I didn't like the original label so I just made my own. 

Lastly, I made this Halloween subway art with my mom, sis, and sis-in-laws when we were in St. George. I saw this on a craft email that was sent to me and said we can totally make that using vinyl and an 8x10 piece of wood my brother cut for us. So I made it using different fonts on my computer and the Silhouette program. This might be my favorite of all of them.

When I was putting it away I decided to use the back for a Thanksgiving craft. So yesterday when I was putting up the two Thanksgiving items that I have, I turned once again to my favorite machine and made this for the backside. 

Fall Cards

We had our card club a couple of weeks ago. The ladies decided to take the summer off so I really looked forward to actually sitting down and making some cards after the three month break. The theme was fall and a free choice but I went with two fall cards. This time they are Jessie originals. I'm not sure if I should admit that. The last one was driving me nuts since it took a little longer to come together, but I am happy with how they both turned out.

Thanks to this site, the witch actually flies through the sky when you pull the tab on the side.

Sometimes it really sucks being here in Vegas while there are celebrations going on in Utah. I have already missed three birthdays parties this month and am going to miss one tonight too. Complete with Tangled lanterns. My mom knows how to throw a party!

When I asked my mom what she wanted for her birthday, she told me a lemonade banner. Now this is my mom. She has wild hairs all the time. Usually it means a really good time like Europe or Tea Parties. But sometimes it means matching sunflower dresses worn by me, my sister, and my mom in a family picture (I don't have a copy, thank goodness). But if there is one thing I have learned in my life, it is just to go with it because she is going to do it anyway. So when mom told me she wanted a lemonade banner, I didn't question that she might be just a little too old for a lemonade stand. I just made it.

Then I got thinking.

A banner is great but she is going to need other things to get this lemonade stand in business, so I continued to make this lemonade kit for her.

Lemonade Kit Includes:

Lemonade (of course)

Cups with Fancy Labels

Straws with Fancy Flag Labels

Tablecloths

Napkins

Hand Towels (lemonade seems to get messy)

A Pitcher

Lemonade Banner

Pink Bucket for Ice

and

a Keep Calm Sign for impatient customers

All you need to do is add water!

And maybe a stand. I'm not too handy in that department.

Since I am too cheap to pay shipping for this big kit, you'll have to admire from blogger until I see you next.

Spring Cards

These are some of the spring cards that I have made for my card club using my silhouette machine.

For this card I used the silhouette to cut a big scalloped circle out of vellum and trimmed it to fit the card. Then cut a smaller flower and placed it on the squares for a mosaic look.

The saying "Hey Chick" is actually the negative space cut on the frame. That was easier than gluing those small letters on.

The second card I have wanted to make ever since I saw it here. She kindly gave a template but I just turned to my machine and cut the whole card with it. I did make one change. I wanted the curtains to have rings. I welded circles with the curtain that they had in the silhouette software to make it hang on the rod.

This is a simple tri-fold card that I made then just added all the goodies that I cut.

Hopefully that gives you some ideas. I'm so glad spring is here!

Jimmer Mania

A friend came over today and wanted help making Jimmer t-shirts for her family for the big game tonight. Word is getting out how awesome silhouettes are. I decided I needed to make Jensen one to wear while he watched the game with his Daddy. I used iron on vinyl that cuts like butter in my silhouette. It's kind of addictive that stuff.

Go Jimmer and Go Cougars!

It's going to be a tough game tonight.

Honorable Mention

The winners were picked today for the Valentine Silhouette contest.

My banner didn't win.

Bummer.

But my Valentine card won honorable mention that I made for my

sweetheart Quincy.

Yeah!
I saw the idea on Martha, of course. She offered a templet but I have a hard time using scissors when I know the Silhouette can cut it fast and not like a second grade art project.

I used nesting hearts from the silhouette store and then edited them so they connected together.

Then I cut vinyl for the hidden message.

I hope they do another contest soon!

Be Mine

Oh I have just been waiting to snap a picture or two of this banner I made for Valentine's Day. My new camera came yesterday but I didn't find the surprise til late last night. I seriously have been taking pictures all morning of well. . .everything! I am in love with it!

Back to what I am blogging about. This banner is just my style red, black, and white with lots of flourishes. I love this too!

I entered it in a Silhouette contest. Cross your fingers that I win. I could use more rhinestones!
