Two Great Things About St. George. . .

Ice Cream at Nielsons Frozen Custard

and Swimming!

And what makes those great things even BETTER?
Having the whole Knudsen Family there to do those things with.

All the cousins in birth order except for Jensen is out of place.
We were just glad he wanted to be in the picture.

The three youngest cousins.

Jensen felt left out so he came back and sat down to the girls and said "Cheese!"

This past weekend my whole family got together and rented out a house in St. George. The house was so spacious that every family had their own room and no one ended up on the floor. It had its own pool in the backyard too. The entire family even went for a swim at the same time. It also had a diving board that I made Jensen jump off a time or two.
While in St. George we did do other things like shopped (of course), ate great food, some went to Tuacahn to see The Little Mermaid, watched movies, crafted and even had Lucy's birthday party (more pictures to come soon).
I agree with Michelle this should become a Knudsen tradition!

Never Ever

It's funny how we say we are never going to do things to our children that we had to suffer through, but then end up doing them anyway. Today I found myself doing that to poor little Lucy.

I was never, ever going to make my daughters have to wear curlers like I did growing up. I not only had to sleep in curlers, I had to wear them to elementary school. I'm sure the boys thought that was cute. It was all for my dancing career that ended when I was in third grade. Thank goodness. I don't know if I could of took the teasing in middle school.

This morning I was on my own before church (Quincy had meetings) and even though we have one o'clock church I am always rushing out the door. I wanted to get Lucy's hair done earlier since it usually seems to be one of the last things to get done. I normally curl it with a curling iron but with her white cotton candy hair, curls can disappear before we even leave the house. I thought maybe I would give in to my never-ever today just to see how it went.

I did have to talk Lucy into wearing these a little bit, but she played along and even kept them in all morning.

After.
Yikes!
Just as I remember.

I tried to contain it with this stylish bow.
But she didn't like it too much.
But to my surprise it did last longer than I thought it would at church.

Of course her hair calmed way down after church which is totally the look I was going for. I have been loving it ever since we got home.
Doesn't this look like a wig? (Like the one I wore in my original Honey, Honey music video.)

Maybe I just won't make her wear them to school.

Our FREE Labor Day Activity

Today we headed to the Springs Preserve since none of us had been there before and it was FREE which was another great incentive to spend the day there. We didn't know what to expect since it was FREE to anyone but it turned out to be a great day. We even talked the cousins from Logandale to come in last minute and join us.

Us at the Bug Show. My hand wasn't in the air to volunteer at this show.

Most of the animals that they have here are native to Las Vegas. I was glad I could see them all caged up instead of crawling in my garage.

If there is water any place, my kids will find it! Jensen even thought this was a drinking fountain.

They even had FREE kettle corn and sno-cones to sweeten the deal.

When the cousins came, we did it all over again. We were really trying to get our money's worth.

Typical family shot.

Good times! Thanks Target for the FREE fun!

Wild Hair Proof

This came in the mail earlier this week.
Now I have my own copy to reference to show that I was an obedient child.

I still can't believe we went along with this WILD HAIR!
Thankfully, I don't think it's too bad that it will end up here.

(If you have no idea what I am talking about read this.)
