The Good and The Bad Weekend

We have all had great weekends and bad weekends. Mine just seemed to happen on the same weekend. So let me tell you about my weekend in a way I used to have my second graders write stories. The Good and The Bad.

Friday:

Good: Went to a friend's house for a luncheon to celebrate one of my other friend's birthdays.

Bad: Jensen started chocking on an apple while sitting on my lap.

Good: Jensen spit it up and was okay.

Bad: It scared me and I moved the chair real fast and it collapsed on me with Jensen on my lap. Yup serious Shallow Hal moment in front of all my friends.

Good: My friend said it was an old chair.

Bad: I still broke a chair.

Later Friday Night:

Good: Went to Cafe Rio for dinner and then to Dantley's (my nephew) basketball game.

Bad: Jensen wanted to run all over the court.

Good: I was prepared and had the diaper bag loaded with M&M's and the ipod.

Bad: Dantley didn't break the All-Time Scoring Leader for Nevada during this game. He would have needed 80 points.

Good: They won and he scored 28 points which means he only needs 52 points to break the record.

Saturday:

Bad: Lucy woke me up at 7:00a.m.

Good: Thought I would do a little dancing to my Just Dance Wii game.

Bad: After two songs had to stop because I had a sharp pain in my neck. I think I must of slept on it wrong. I couldn't even turn my head without screaming in pain.

Good: We decide to take the road trip to Lincoln County to see Dantley break the record.

Bad: Had to cancel a shopping date to Rod Works with a good friend.

Good: She understood and said we could go next week.

Bad: Who would of thought sitting in the car would of hurt my neck?

Good: Made it to the game on time and Dantley had 15ish points the first quarter. He was on track to break the record.

Bad: It wasn't easy talking to people at the game. Would have to turn my whole body to look at someone.

GREAT: During half time, Quincy paid a dollar to try for a half court shot. He made it! And won a two liter of Dr. Pepper for it. I even managed to film it for future generations to watch.

Bad: Dantley didn't have a too high scoring 3rd quarter.

Good: He was back in the 4th and tied the record with a 3 point shot!

Bad: Dantley missed a lay up to pass the record.

THE BEST: DANTLEY HIT A NBA 3 TO BREAK THE RECORD. IT WAS AWESOME! They stopped the game and honored him. Super cool. And I captured it all on video even with Lucy on my lap this time. He ended up scoring 64 points in one game. The Review Journal said that it was the most points scored in a high school game in the country this year. At the end of the game they passed out t-shirts that read:

Witnessed
Dantley Walker
Become the
All Time Nevada Scoring Leader

They even had one for Jensen and Lucy. When the game was over we had family pictures with our shirts on. Lucy was walking around and the shirt was an inch from the floor. She was so cute walking around in it. After the game we went to Greg and Angie's and everyone watched my footage of the highlights.

Bad: Wanted to stop in Caliente and get dinner. We were starving but it was closed.

Good: R place in Alamo was only an hour away.

Bad: R place shuts their shake maker off at 8:45 and we were cutting it close.

Good: My super smart sis-in-law called and put in an order for us.

Really Good: They have the best burritos and banana shakes. So yummy.

Bad: My neck seemed to hurt even worse on the way home.

Good: Got home and put a hot rice pack on it seemed to help.

THE WORST: When we went to go find the camera it was NOwhere! It's not even my camera to lose. I actually dropped mine at Christmas and my mom had an extra to let me borrow til I got a new one. We have checked the car multiple times and still no sign. We retraced our steps and it only could be two places. Quincy's brother's front yard or dropped out of the car at the R Place.
Sunday:
Good: Neck feels a little better.
Bad: Called R Place and they said it wasn't turned in.
About an hour ago:

Wonderful: Some man brought my camera to Angie's house and said he found it on the side of the road between Lincoln and Caliente. (Must of been put safely on top of the car.)

Horrible: Camera was destroyed.

Good: Memory card survived with all of the footage on it. Angie said she would mail it to me.
Decided it was only a camera and it could be replaced. Mom will understand and will still love me. Hopefully.

Bad: I haven't told my mom yet.

So Mom if you are reading this before I get to talk to you. I'm sorry and we will replace it.
Hopefully I will get to post the pictures and videos soon because that was the highlight of the weekend.
I might stay inside next weekend.

L is for Lucy not Laverne

I made this shirt for Lucy for Christmas. I made it on my Silhouette (of course) and it was super easy. My mom gave me the rhinestone starter kit as an early Christmas gift. She always knows just what I want. Since they were so fun and personable I ended up giving them for gifts too! (Not L's but their own initials.)
I think I am addicted and want to put L's on all of her shirts just like Laverne did, but then my next girl (not announcing) will have to have a name that starts will an L. And there just isn't too many L names in the quiver right now. So for now, only one Lucy shirt.
